Barça Ready for Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
