Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
