Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
